Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Chesslang One, a product of Shortcastle Technologies(“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Chesslang One is a coach community platform for chess coaches and academies. It provides community discussion and chat, teaching tools (certificate and brochure generators), and access to bundled products including ByteChess and 10x Chess Academy. Live webinar access and webinar/session materials, previously hosted directly on Chesslang One, have moved to 10x Chess Academy (10xchessacademy.com); your Chesslang One membership includes access there. Coaches on a full membership plan also receive provisioning on the ChessLang platform for academy management tools.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Chesslang One is intended for business use by chess coaches and academies, not for personal consumer use. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for activity that occurs under your account.

3. Subscription and billing

Chesslang One is billed at $29 per month, charged in INR via Razorpay or in USD via Stripe, depending on the payment method you choose at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing cycle until cancelled. Promo codes, where offered, apply a fixed discounted price for a limited time or number of uses; codes expire or stop working once their usage cap or validity window is reached, and do not carry over after that.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service: no scraping, reverse engineering, sharing your account credentials, or using the platform to distribute unlawful, infringing, or abusive content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Content and intellectual property

Materials, brochures, certificates, and other content made available through Chesslang One are licensed to you for personal and academy teaching use only. Recordings and PDF materials are deliberately delivered stream-only within the platform; redistribution, resale, or re-uploading of this content outside Chesslang One is not permitted.

6. AI assistant

Where available, the AI assistant generates answers from webinar transcripts using OpenAI. Responses are informational only, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and should not be relied on as authoritative chess or coaching advice without independent verification.

7. Availability and liability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shortcastle Technologies is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Chesslang One. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
